WHO’S DRAWING YOU?

In today’s My Utmost For His Highest devotional, Oswald Chambers calls our attention to WHEN God draws us to Himself. While the drawing comes, it is of our own free will to go. Sort of like the three wise men when they set out to see the baby that was born in the manger.

The other day in a store and I was drawn to a T-shirt that said Believe and Receive, but as I got closer I saw that it had a picture of Santa in the middle. There are a lot of things, people and places that will draw us from the real meaning of the season. Christmas per (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christmas) originated as a compound meaning “Christ’s Mass”.

We have a couple of more days to prepare the masses to be drawn to the real meaning of the season, go and make every second count.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE A couple of months ago, I went to a church event to do a book signing.    The person in charge directed to a spot where I was to set up.  Ah, I thought I have the best seat in the house, right next to the biggest grill I have ever seen.  I introduced myself to the chef.  In between the turning of his ribs, chicken, and Italian sausage; we found out that we had something in common.  He loves to cook and feed people and me, I just love people. Later when it was time for me to leave, he echoed to let him know if he could ever help.  Jokily I said, “How about at a BACK 2 SCHOOL rally?”  Without hesitation, we exchanged info and I shuffled off.  Months later, I get a call and the voice on the other end said, “Okay tell me where, what to bring and the time.   On August 20, 2011, we hosted a rally in the Victory Pointe housing community on the Westside of Jacksonville, Florida.   In addition to enjoying non-stop food and fun, w e were able to share a message of hope

Tammy's Journey 'Through'

Some years ago, Tammy had a good friend pass away from her battle with breast cancer; this unfortunate event caused her to begin to think about the importance of mammogram screenings. In September 2009, while lying in her bed; Tammy had an itch on her left breast and while examining herself she felt a lump.   Soon after, Tammy made her way to the doctors.  An hour  and  a half after her visit, her cell phone rang, the nurse informed her that the doctor saw something suspicious and ordered a MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging) (a) on her right breast.  Tammy gave a perplexed reply, “You mean my left breast that is where I felt the lump.”  The nurse asked Tammy to hold on for a second, when she returned to the phone she said, “No, the right breast.”  As Tammy headed for her MRI appointment, she encountered additional tension, you see she is claustrophobic.  During the procedure, Tammy chose to repeat over and over again, Isaiah 41:10, Fear not for I am with thee.   Once the assessment w
