FROWNING UPSIDE DOWN

Image
Shhhhhhh, listen; as another school year ends, can you hear the parents, teachers and faculty yelling ‘We did it!’ You all have been through the ringer. From transitioning to instructing kids from their homes to returning back to the classrooms. Yes, You did it! Before we let you shut down the building for a few months, we are trying to make one last visit. I have three grands who bring such joy to my heart. Today was grand number two’s turn. The night before, her mom shared that she should expect a surprise at lunch time. My inquisitive grand tried to guess, but her mom wasn’t given in no matter how many times she blurted out the wrong response. On the way to grand number two’s school, I daydreamed about what kind of facial expression we were going to see displayed on her face. I pulled in the school parking lot, got out the car and hurriedly walked in the front door and checked in. After I was directed to lunch area, I sat down. I thought hmm, maybe I’ll record her expression, but

Bruised or Broken

The other day while driving down the street, I saw something in the road up ahead; but couldn’t quite make it out. As we got closer, I slowed down to take a look. To our left, close to the median; I saw it laying on its side. Right next to it was another one, I wondered could it be its parent or a friend; who knew? 2022 Started Out With A Lump

Image
This message is sponsored by Pausing With God Ministries 2022 Started Out With A Lump Well HAPPY NEW YEAR to you! My 2022 has started out with a lump. I woke up with soreness, a lump under my swollen left armpit. At first, I shrugged it off as I had been trying some new exercises targeting my arms. Last night the pain was alerting me that something wasn’t right. My husband and I prayed over my body, and I went on my evening. As I climbed in bed, I thought to lay a heating pad on the area and see what it would look like in the morning… Click on link to read the rest of the story   https://pausingwithgod.com/ All contributions and resources are accepted and greatly appreciate. THE KEYS

Image
The piano is a widely recognized instrument known for its beautiful sound.  Every key has a different range, from soft to strong.  Well, some years ago, I purchased a keyboard for the sole purpose of making a joyful noise, well at least I was going to try. I exited the music store with the salesperson in tow behind me. He gently packed the box in the trunk of my car. At last, my newfound friend and I were on our way home. In the family room, after taking the contents out of the box, I fastened both of the legs on.  One, two, three, counting down like I was about to blow candles on a cake, as I took my right index finger and pushed the power button.   After a few weeks of banging on the keys, I decided it might be best to take a few lessons. It was during this time that I squashed the myth that every note had to be perfect. For me, playing was something that was relaxing and though I couldn’t play without reading music, I still found it to be fun. I discovered that with consistency, per

THE STONES

Before we moved to Florida back in 1999, we were involved in street ministry for kids. When I considered the move, I thought my season for this type of ministry was possibly coming to an end. But to my surprise, I found out that a team member, attended training with someone in Jacksonville who was doing the same type of ministry. Well, we moved, and I tried to chill out for a bit to get our family settled, but I was so excited about seeing what was happening with the JAX outreach. Shortly after contacting the founder, my family and I joined as helpers in the Ramona Boulevard, now known as Victory Pointe Boys & Girls Club and before we knew it; the residence (especially the children) became like family. Some months later, we had an idea to have a breakfast. The first year, the mini buffet was birthed from toaster and microwave ovens. The feedback was so overwhelming, we began planning for the following year. This blessed event went on for nine years. With each year the gifts as we
