THE KEYS

Image
The piano is a widely recognized instrument known for its beautiful sound.  Every key has a different range, from soft to strong.  Well, some years ago, I purchased a keyboard for the sole purpose of making a joyful noise, well at least I was going to try. I exited the music store with the salesperson in tow behind me. He gently packed the box in the trunk of my car. At last, my newfound friend and I were on our way home. In the family room, after taking the contents out of the box, I fastened both of the legs on.  One, two, three, counting down like I was about to blow candles on a cake, as I took my right index finger and pushed the power button.   After a few weeks of banging on the keys, I decided it might be best to take a few lessons. It was during this time that I squashed the myth that every note had to be perfect. For me, playing was something that was relaxing and though I couldn’t play without reading music, I still found it to be fun. I discovered that with consistency, per

THE STONES

Before we moved to Florida back in 1999, we were involved in street ministry for kids. When I considered the move, I thought my season for this type of ministry was possibly coming to an end. But to my surprise, I found out that a team member, attended training with someone in Jacksonville who was doing the same type of ministry. Well, we moved, and I tried to chill out for a bit to get our family settled, but I was so excited about seeing what was happening with the JAX outreach. Some months later, we had an idea to have a breakfast. The first year, the mini buffet was birthed from toaster and microwave ovens. The feedback was so overwhelming, we began planning for the following year. This blessed event went on for nine years. With each year the gifts as we

Special Delivery August 7, 2021 PausingWithGod Every day I wake up wondering what adventures or opportunities shall I encounter…well today’s was no different. Sometime this morning the doorbell rings. I get up from my desk and walk over and look out the window. As I pull the curtains back, I notice a delivery truck going down the street away from my house. The Ring doorbell recorded that a package had been delivered. I pause and think to myself, ‘Hmmm, I don’t recall ordering anything.’ Downstairs I go, a tad excited as maybe it was something my husband ordered. I open the door and look down, the box wasn’t as big as I thought it would be. I picked it up to check out the label. Of course you know the tracking and all the other stickers they slap on boxes are larger than the address label. I take a second look, the package wasn’t for us nor did I recognize the name or address. As I ponder what to do, I begin writing down the information from the label. Who do I call first, the deliver
