Menopause is the time in a woman's life when she stops having menstrual periods. It is a natural process and is not considered a sign of ill health or a death sentence.
During menopause a woman's estrogen and progesterone levels decrease. This process triggers a series of emotional and physical symptoms.
The symptoms are different for each woman, but may include depression, sleep problems, hot flashes, moodiness, irritability and weight gain.
Unfortunately woman who go through menopause are less likely to be physically active and have a higher chance of developing ailments related to an inactive lifestyle.
It is very important that you visit your physician, eat a balanced diet that contains enough calcium and exercise regularly. All three of these will assist you in taking good care of yourself and decrease the severity of your symptoms.
