Fit To Be Used
Name one thing many of us have in common on New Year’s Eve?
You got it a list of resolutions: from joining the gym, to eating healthier, kicking the habit of smoking and/or drinking, going back to school, a better paying job or better yet-finding a job, getting out of debt, visiting a place you’ve never been before or maybe even writing a book.
A New Year resolution is a commitment that an individual makes to a personal goal, project, or the reforming of a habit. This lifestyle change is generally interpreted as advantageous. A New Years Resolution is generally a goal someone sets out to accomplish in the coming year.

As I sat down to write, I tossed up so many topics in my mind. But there was one that I could not shake. In a conversation with my aunt the other day, she said the theme for 2011 is ‘Fit To Be Used’. Their focus will be on Health and Discipleship.
According to the Webster dictionary, health is defined as the condition of being sound in body, mind, or spirit. Discipleship is the state of being a disciple or follower in doctrines (set of guidelines) and precepts (instruction, teaching).
Healthy in our body, in our mind and our spirit. Aware that not all of us are called to do the same thing and that some of us are limited to what we can do for various reasons. What will determine if we will be able to disciple others, will be our outlook and attitude about our body, what we allow in our mind and our spirit.
The purpose of this website is for us to encourage and support one another. Pausing With God is targeting women of all ages, but especially those who are peri, meno and post menopausal.
This is our year to pause and think of how important our health is. What roadblock is standing in our way? What is hindering our need to make the necessary changes? I am reminded of the race of faith in Hebrews 12:1 – 2… let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.
It is imperative that we educate ourselves as early on as possible. Education is the key. God even says that we are destroyed for lack of knowledge…Hosea 4:6.
In our journey through Menopause it may feel like a never ending saga. But just like many other things in our lives…there is a season and a reason for everything. Do not quit, do not give up; do not lose sight of where you are headed. Just like our bodies are forever changing, there is new data and helpful information being discovered daily.
As we enter into this New Year, let’s do our best in helping each other to be the best we can be. Instead of a New Years resolution that may fizz out before January is gone, make a plan to connect with someone that can run –err maybe walk with you on this journey. Someone who has possibly went before you and experienced what you are going through. Someone who will stand at the finish line and encourage you all the way to the end.
Happy New Year, Let’s have a blessed year on purpose!
