The Courage of the Queen
The other night I was watching the 2006 movie, "One Night With The King." This movie portrays the life of the young Jewish girl, Hadassah, who goes on to become the Biblical Esther, the Queen of Persia, and saves the Jewish nation from annihilation at the hands of its arch enemy while winning the heart of the fiercely handsome King Xerxes.
Esther WAS in a place of oppression, but when she went to the palace she was given the second most honored position in the kingdom. Though she had no idea what lied ahead of her, she all the same; did what was necessary to become the very person that was used to deliver her people.
Imagine the preparation and courage that was needed ‘For Such A Time As This.’ You will find that she took an entire year to prepare for her, ‘One Night With The King.
"
Preparation is defined as the action or process of making something ready for use or service or of getting ready for some occasion.
Courage is defined as mental or moral strength to persevere, and withstand fear, or difficult situations.
Menopause is not something that will go away overnight, but keep in mind that it is neither a disease nor a lifetime sentence; nevertheless the symptoms associated with it can make us feel this way. The most common are hot flashes, night sweats, irregular periods, loss of libido, vaginal dryness and mood swings.
Esther had an enemy who came to discourage, defeat and destroy her and her people, but she did not give up and neither should we. As we face our daily challenges – remember that we are the modern day Esther’s and menopause is not our permanent address.
Let’s be bold and take courage in preparing ourselves, so that we will be able to encourage one another; and as we grow together in this season of perfecting, I know we will find grace and peace in Pausing With God.
As I read your post, I could see a time in my life where God was preparing me for something that is so much bigger than me! Thank you Sheri for this post. Sometimes we just need a reminder to seek Gods hands in our own life!! Amen!! :)
