SECRET PLACE

I’m curious as to how you start your day?  When the alarm rings, do you drag yourself out of bed or hit the snooze button.    You’re tired, there are not enough hours in the day or strength in your body.   Every day the same ole’, same ole'.  You don’t want to nor can you go on like this too much longer, something has to give.   Might we encourage you to pull your head from under the covers?  Take a few minutes before you start your day to dwell in the secret place of the Most High God.   In Him you will find everything you need, you will be able to mount up on wings like an eagle, you will run and not get weary; you will be able to walk and not faint.  You will go HIGHER!! Let us hear from you, feel free to post a comment.

HOT FLASHES

Image
Hot Flashes are just one of the many symptoms that are associated with menopause. Our bodies are sounding off -- there is a decrease in the hormonal level of the female reproductive system (estrogen). REALLY! Do we need a hot flash to tell us this breaking news? As you prepare to take your journey through menopause, remember it is not a disease, but a period of transition. It is in your best interest to do your homework, get to know your body and secure a physician that you are comfortable and can be open with. For us cold natured people, hot flashes are like a heating pad; but for others – an erupting volcano. While every woman will experience her flashes to a different degree; all of us will have to buckle up and ride this season out. There are no easy answers or quick solutions, but one thing that will always help is PRAYER. Have you ever slammed your finger in a door? The more you concentrate on it; the worse it gets. Same with the hot flash, the more attention you...

Running or Looking?

The other day out of the blue I found myself humming, I Wanna Run To You by Whitney Houston.   I goggled the title of the song to see if I could find a reason why this popped in my head.  It was a song from the movie, The Bodyguard.  I pulled up and read the lyrics which seemed to represent what many of us women have felt at one time or another.  Most of us have ran and some still running to people, places and things.  We have been scared, hurt, felt all alone and just want someone to take the time to get to know the real us.   In between the deep breaths, we make it look like we have everything under control, but on the inside we are falling apart. We all have a little girl inside who is longing for love and want to be kept safe from harm.                      My countenance changed as I looked over to the right.  I selected the video, I Look To You.  After we have been through, ...

LIFE CYCLES

an Article from my friend Anita C. Harris  Throughout our life, we are thrown in many different cycles.   We all would agree that life would be a lot easier if we could look ahead to see what was coming next, unfortunately; (or perhaps fortunately) we cannot.   The question either way is - how will we cope with changes?    Change may include: -The loss of a loved one -Unemployment -Foreclosure -Infidelity -Divorce -A wayward child -Illness -The woe of menopause -A transition to, or from...you name it. Twelve years ago, life hit me between the eyes.   I was diagnosed with Lupus (SLE) and Fibromyalgia.    Shortly after prednisone related diabetes materialized and I had to endure crossover treatment for my kidneys and lungs. As if that wasn't enough, menopause!    All of this and I was only 37 years old, with three little girls and a husband to care for; on top of that I just started a new job.   I did not understand God's reasonin...

PINBALL

Image
When I was growing up, I remember the only time we played video games was an occasional visit to the arcade.  Most of our time was spent outside.  We played tag, hopscotch, dodge ball and hide and seek – how could I forget the best one - sliding down the hill in a cardboard box .  Entertaining us did not cost nearly as much it does for kids today. But things have changed in many households, some we are responsible for and some are out of our control.   With the pinball machine, we were the operators, but lately it appears that life has placed us inside the glass enclosure and is tossing us to and fro.  Just when we think we have learned how to coast our way out, we are thrown back to the top; starting all over again.                               As a mother myself, I understand how hectic life can be and being in the midst of menopause does not make it any easier .  ...

The Imperfect Wives: Honoring Our Moms At All Times!

The Imperfect Wives: Honoring Our Moms At All Times!
Various groups of ladies and myself have been blessed with the opportunity to SHUT-IN. We usually set aside an uninterrupted twenty-four hour period to Dwell In A Place and seek the Lord. One particular shut in, we began by first standing in The Outer Court with thanksgiving in our hearts.  As the Lord invited us to go further, we found ourselves at The Brazen Altar, sacrificing and surrendering everything that hindered us.  Our feet had to be washed in the Laver before we could even think about entering into the Holy Place. Once we were cleansed through His Word, we advanced into The Inner Court.  We passed The Table of Showbread as the Lord guided us with the light from His Golden Candlesticks.   Without any thought, we moved in a time of prayer and intercession as we rested by The Golden Altar.                        With a spirit of expectancy, we carefully entered The Most Ho...
